Janine Morris (They/Them)

(Why pronouns matter)

My practice is on Unceded Miwok & Pomo & Wappo Lands in what is called Sebastopol, CA.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (since 2018) and have an M.A. in Somatic Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies. I have also completed two years of training at the Somatic Experiencing® Trauma Institute, and one year of training in NARM (NeuroAffective Relational Model). I have worked in private practice, clinics, schools, group-homes, homeless shelters, transitional housing, and with court mandated clients through Child protective Services.

I became interested in somatic psychology during my undergraduate studies and designed an undergraduate major focusing on somatics, cross-cultural healing modalities, and spirituality. My passion for this work lies in the fact that by doing healing work and creating a kinder internal relationship with ourselves, we create social scripts that reverberate out into the world and create the world we want to live in.

I identify as Fat, Queer, Non-binary, Neurodivergent, White, and Jewish. In addition to being a therapist, I am a dog mom, slow hiker, visual artist, roller skater, and circle singer.
